Product Description

Labeled as a Bus Master Controller the IS215VCMIH2CB model is primarily used for interfacing between the I/O boards and the controller. The interface will be used for communicating with the IONet, which is also known as the system control network. The VCMI is also the master controller in applications where it is connected to the I/O and control racks; when the controller is used with the I/O and control racks it can govern the identification of all of the boards in the rack as well as their associated terminal boards. 

The typical system and redundancy type used with the IS215VCMIH2CB board is a triple modular redundant (TMR) application. There are different types of input data collection and voting types depending on the system used. For example, in a larger TMR system, the input data for the channel will be accumulated and then placed in the pre-vote table and sent to other control modules in the same system over the IONet. The state exchange and voting data in a TMR system are also different compared to a simplex system. A portion of the variable within the controller will be transferred to the IONet to be voted on by the VCMIs and will then be duplicated back to the controllers. 

There is also a different frame rate performance for the triple modular redundant system compared to that of the simplex system. The frame rate that the IS215VCMIH2CB board will operate on is a frame rate of twenty milliseconds with the typical control at fifty Hertz.
