Product Description
The IS215VCMIH1B is manufactured by GE as a VCMI Bus Master Controller for the Mark VI system. The MKVI was one of the last Speedtronic management systems for gas/steam turbines developed by General Electric. The Speedtronic management systems focused on using reliable management through integrated backup controls and better design to increase the efficiency of the associated turbine systems.
The IS215VCMIH1B is a communication interface to the system control network (IONet,) and also acts as a communication interface between the controller and the Input/Output boards. The IS215VCMIH1B also manages IDs for all the boards within its rack as well as the IDs for their associated terminal boards.
The IS215VCMIH1B has a single-slot faceplate designed with multiple components. The top of the faceplate has three LED indicators, labeled “Run,” “Fail,” and “Status.” These are placed above a push button reset switch and a serial port. Directly below the serial port is another set of LED indicators, which as a group is labeled “Module,” and individually are labeled 8,4,2, and 1. Next comes three LED indicators labeled R, S, and T, and another three LED indicators labeled TX, RX, and CD. These are followed by an IONet 10Base2 port. The faceplate is connected to the board via three screw connections.
The IS215VCMIH1B is populated by integrated circuits, transistors, capacitors, resistors, and diodes. The board has several lines of inductor beads located near the far edge. There are two vertical pin connectors and two backplanes located on the board surface, along with connectors composed of conductive dots. There are several locations on the board outlined for missing components; board variations may use these components.
