Product Description

The IS215UCVDH1A is a controller component from GE manufactured as part of the Mark VI system.  Used for the management of steam or gas turbines, the Mark VI is a GE management platform released as part of the Speedtronic line.  It can be scaled to fit the complexity and size of the related turbine system with added modules and dependant whether the system is built as a simplex or TMR system.

The IS215UCVDH1A uses an AMD-K6 processor.  This runs at 300 MHz and has 8 MB of flash memory.  The controller is designed to run turbine application code.  It uses a QNX operating system. Three communication ports located on the front faceplate link to operator and engineering interfaces.  This includes

• UDH Ethernet connections for communication with HMIs and other control equipment

• RS-232C connection via the COM1 port, for setup purposes.

• RS-232C connection via the COM2 port, for communication with DCS (distributed control systems.)

The IS215UCVDH1A uses the VCMI communication board to transfer external data to and from the control system database in the controller via the VME bus.   An external clock interrupt allows the controller to sync with the VCMI to within +/- 100 microseconds.

The IS215UCVDH1A uses control block language with analog and discrete blocks. The system supports data types like Boolean and 16-bit/32-bit signed integer and 32-bit/64-bit floating point.   COM port 1 is used for diagnostics only and runs at a 9600 baud rate. COM2 is used for serial Modbus communication and runs at either 9600  or 19200 baud rate. More information about the board and its components may be found through manufacturer manuals and user guides.
