Product Description

The IS200VSCAH2ABA is a Serial Communications Board that offers I/O interfaces with external devices by employing RS422, RS232C, and RS485 serial communications. It provides six serial communication ports and is a single slot board. The RS422 and RS232C interfaces support full duplex. The board is associated with the DIN-rail mounted Serial Communications Terminal Board (DSCB), which is wired to the external devices and includes intelligent pressure sensors. The VSCA includes block jumpers JP1 through JP6, which are used to select the port electrical characteristic.

Data flow from the IS200VSCAH2ABA to the controller UCV is Modbus I/O and fixed I/O. The fixed I/O data flow is related to the Kollmorgen electric drive data and the smart pressure transducers. Resulting data is processed in its entirety every frame at a rate of 100 Hz, which is the same rate as conventional I/O. Modbus I/O, on the other hand, is associated with the Modbus ports. Unlike fixed I/O, the signals are not entirely processed every frame; instead, they are packetized and transferred over the IONet to the UCV processor. 

General Electric's IS200VSCAH2ABA contains a number of failsafe features, such as communication miss counters. Alongside associated diagnostics for the feature, the unit is able to track the amount of consecutive misses and force the input pressure to 1.0 psia in the event that four misses are logged. After forcing the input pressure to 1.0 psia, the device will post a diagnostic to alert users to the event that has transpired and any details.
