There are two groups of TBTC board. How do the two groups differ?

The two groups of the TBTC board are the TBTCH1C and the TBTCH1B; the IS200TBTCH1BAA model is part of the second group. The main differences between the two groups are the application types. The application type for the TBTCH1C model is a simplex system, whereas the application type for the TBTCH1B model is used in Triple Modular Redundant systems. Another difference between the two thermocouple input boards is the type of thermocouple inputs used; the TBTCH1C will send out E, J, K, S, or T thermocouple inputs, whereas the TBTCH1B model will provide thermocouple inputs by fanning them out to the conjoining VTCC board. 

How is the IS200TBTCH1BAA model installed in the Mark VI series?

Product Description

The IS200TBTCH1BAA printed circuit board or PCB is a device which is called a thermocouple terminal board. The IS200TBTCH1BAA is one of many components in the Mark VI series by General Electric or GE. The Mark VI is one of the series that make up the Mark family of products made for gas/steam turbine control and automation.

The IS200TBTCH1BAA is a large rectangular circuit board that contains a number of various electronic components including terminals, resistors, capacitors, and ports. Two large terminal blocks which are solid black are positioned along the left edge of the IS200TBTCH1BAA which each contain twenty-four terminals. These terminals are made of silver metal and in the shape of cubes. Each of these terminals has been identified with the numbers one through forty-eight in white print. These terminal blocks are named TB1 and TB2. 

Along the right border of the IS200TBTCH1BAA are two (2) jack connector ports which may be used to attach additional components or boards to the IS200TBTCH1BAA. The connector port on the top is labeled as JA1 and the connector port beneath it is called JB1. In the middle of the IS200TBTCH1BAA are two (2) large collections of very small components. Both of these groups have five (5) vertical rows of components. On the left side is a row of resistors which are blue and white. Directly to the right of this row is a row of small silver capacitors. These rows of resistors and capacitors repeat on the right. A long row of components that are identified by the letter L is situated on the right side.

While there are two groups of TBTC models, there are many differences between the two group types. One of the main things is that the TBTCH1C model has more information on it, while it is slightly confusing whether or not the IS200TBTCH1BAA model will operate the same as the TBTCH1C model. - AX Control Tech
