About the 8055-SCP-655X

The 8055-SCP-655X module was developed and manufactured by Square D as part of the SY/MAX series and is classified as a processor module with an attached ethernet port. The module has 26K of RAM and 650 Watts of power. This module is a revision of the 8055-SCP-655 module, which can also be found on and ordered through our website here: https://www.axcontrol.com/automation/square-d/symax-class-8055/8055-SCP-655.

The 8055-SCP-655X module has a rectangular shape with a white faceplate and black sides. Toward the top of the module’s faceplate, there are eight indicator lights which illuminate to indicate the module’s various statuses. These indicator lights run from top to bottom as follows: “RUN,” “HALT,” “MEMORY,” “FORCE,” “I/O,” “BATTERY LOW,” “WRITE PROTECT,” and lastly “ETHERNET COMM ERROR.” The top indicator light, “RUN,” is green, while the rest of the seven indicator lights are red. Below the eight indicator lights is a small door meant to house the device’s battery. The door is secured by a small screw and has text on it which reads, “BATTERY INSTALLED DATE,” with a label where the aforementioned date can be written down. Below this door, there is a small slot where a small key can be inserted with four positions. These four positions run from left to right as follows: “DISABLE OUTPUTS,” “HALT,” “RUN,” “RUN PROGRAM.” The module’s default position is “HALT.” Below this, there is a small port with the text, “PRGMR CHNL 1,” right next to it. Below that, there are two labels with arrows pointing down indicating that the parts are located on the bottom of the 8055-SCP-655X module. These labels run from left to right as follows, “ETHERNET DROP” and “COMM CHNL 2.”

Processor errors can occur when an operation is attempted but is unable to be completed successfully. There are error code numbers that range from 01 to 099. Please refer to the series’ manuals to learn the specifics of these error codes.
