The 45C977 EEPROM memory module (or its counterpart the 45C975 EEPROM memory module, which has fewer Words) is a necessary product if you are using a Shark XL CPU module. There are two different Shark XL CPU modules: 45C900 and 45C901. A memory module is needed for use with these two CPU modules because they do not come equipped with any sort of internal memory. The 45C977 EEPROM memory module has 3997 (4K) Words. On the front of the module, you will find three indicator LEDs, a hand-held programmer connection port with sixteen pins, a selector switch for the communication port, and an RS-232 port that is meant to connect an IBM personal computer. On the side of the module, you will find the EEPROM memory unit at the top. Just below it, there is a connector with slide-in capabilities. To the left of these two components, there are two command mode switches.
