0-58703-5 Regulator Board

The 0-58703-5 is a Reliance board component manufactured for use within the company’s drive systems.  This board is most often used within the MaxPak III Three-phase D-C Regenerative VS Drive system. Reliance circuit boards sometimes may be marked as originating from Baldor-Reliance, or in more rare instances, from Asea Brown Boveri.  The board’s part ID will always reflect 58703-5 within it.

The 0-58703-5  functions as a Regulator card.  This nearly square circuit board has been factory drilled in its corners to allow for mounting options.  The board is populated by six transformers along the bottom right corner of the board. It has multiple integrated circuits (over forty) across the board’s surface that perform various functions.   This includes oscillating chips.

The 0-58703-5  has jumper switches, resistor network arrays, potentiometers, relay components, heat sinks, and capacitors of various size and capacitance. The board has a large bipolar transistor mounted to a heat sink that is itself mounted above other components. This is located in the center of the bottom edge of the board.   Most components are mounted horizontally, but some have been mounted vertically.

The 0-58703-5  should be installed carefully into the drive system.  Reliance manuals specify technicians to be sure the board is fitted to mounting studs on a uniform plane, without forcing any mounting screws or bending/warping the surface of the board.   Please note the settings of jumpers and board configurations of the board you are replacing and be sure to set these to the same variables on the replacement card before installation.
