Product Description

The 0-56940-512 is a Reliance Electric regulator board.  This is where drive regulation occurs.  The board was manufactured and distributed by Reliance Electric as part of their drive systems, although it may have also been sold under company names Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance. 

The 0-56940-512 has multiple responsibilities, including accepting power circuit feedback signals and external speed references.  It also is designed to accept data from any connected encoder if the motor is set up for FVC regulation.  The regulator board also
Offers up data to users via a four-character display and fourteen LED indicators
Has form A and Form B contacts for drive status indicators
Uses PWM gating signals via other components to IGBT power devices
Provides a snubber resistor braking signal

Some of the board components on the 0-56940-512 includes the 4-digit user display, a user I/O terminal strip, a 34-pin ribbon cable, a 60-pin ribbon cable, a d-shell connector, an RS232 connector, and multiple jumpers.  Jumpers are used to set board voltage in and voltage out signals as well as analog speed and torque.   The board has been drilled for mounting options.  The board also carries an assortment of integrated circuits, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other components.
