0-51893-2 Field Controller FCCC

The 0-51893-2  is a Field Controller module manufactured by Reliance Electric for use within the company’s drive systems.  This is one of several Field Controllers available within this board series; please verify which version is compatible with your system.

The 0-51893-2 has multiple board components attached to a front faceplate. The faceplate has a twelve-position terminal strip located in its center. This is covered by its own smaller cover attached with a screw to either end of the terminal strip.  Wires typically attach to the right side of the terminal strip as they extend through the faceplate from an opening located on the right side of the terminal strip. These wires are typically black or orange with blue or red ends.   The faceplate has two openings to access potentiometers located on the circuit board. It also has a set screw at both the top and at the bottom of the panel that locks the component into position within the rack system.

The 0-51893-2 has several board components.  This includes a 0-48650-2 board, a 0-48651-2 board, and several smaller auxiliary boards that are mounted to these boards at a ninety-degree angle via pin connections and are supported by metal housings.  The boards are populated by transformers, transistors, capacitors of various size and materials, including disk capacitors, resistors (primarily metal film and wire wound) diodes, stab-on connectors, surface wires from larger transformer components to the board surface and surface wires from the board to other components,  as well as a conductive backplane.
