About the 0-51879-5
0-51879-5 PRL Gate Amplifier Module PGAF
The 0-51879-5 is a PCB board component fabricated by Reliance Electric for use with various Reliance drives. The 0-51879-5 is no longer manufactured. This board may be marked as being from Reliance Electric, or it may be marked as being from Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) or from Baldor Reliance. The board number will be the same.
The 0-51879-5 functions as a PRL Gate Amplifier Module. The component has a front faceplate attached with four plug connectors (female) lined up on the right edge. These plugs are heavily wired on the rear surface of the front panel. Some of these wires attach to the board surface.
The circuit board part of the 0-51879-5 attaches to the front faceplate using screw connections. The PCB is marked with a grid pattern that is marked on one axis with numbers (five through eighty by fives,) and on the other axis by letters (A through BD.) The front half of the board is essentially empty barring a few capacitors and resistors. The rear of the board is populated with diodes, capacitors, integrated circuits, transistors, and disk capacitors. The rear edge of the board has a tail that extends from it that is populated with multiple conductive tabs.
More information about this board can be found through publications originally provided by Reliance Electric. This includes individual PCB data sheets, product manuals, and series user guides. Reliance Electric provided all the technical support for this board when it was originally released. Safety and installation procedures will be available within Reliance publications.
