0-51851-5 CRCF Regulator Control Module

The 0-51851-5 is a PCB (printed circuit board) made by Reliance Electric for use within various Reliance drives.  Drive boards like this one can carry a number of different manufacturer marks due to changes in Reliance’s corporate structure.  This includes Reliance Electric, ABB (Asea Brown Boveri,) and Baldor-Reliance. The part number will be the same in all cases.

The 0-51851-5 functions as a Regulator Control Module.  The component is designed with a front faceplate attached to the circuit board.  The faceplate is populated with eight rotary dials. These are labeled (top to bottom) max spd, min spd, accl, decl, jog spd, cur lim, ir comp, and stab.  Each dial can be set from zero to ten. Each of these rotary dials matches up with a potentiometer located on the rear side of the faceplate. The faceplate attaches to the board surface via three screws.

The 0-51851-5  is populated by six integrated circuits and several transistors.  The board has resistors made from both metal film and carbon composite material.  Capacitors include ceramic disk capacitors, polyester vinyl axial capacitors, and capacitors of other material.  Surface wiring is used at several points on the board’s surface. The rear edge of the board extends in a tail covered in conductive tabs; this functions as a sort of backplane.
