0-51849-3 GDCD Gate Driver Control Module 

The 0-51849-3 is a board component originally manufactured and released by Reliance Electric.   It functions as a Gate Driver Control Module (GDCD.)  This board component includes a front faceplate that attaches to the circuit board via three screw connections.  The faceplate does not have any components mounted into its surface.  Rather, it serves as a space filler within the rack front.  The panel is marked with the board id and number and includes two set screws to lock the module in place once it is installed. 

The board component portion of the 0-51849-3 is printed over its surface with a grid pattern.  It is factory drilled to allow for the addition of mounting hardware.    The back half of this board is taken up by a metal framework that holds six auxiliary cards mounted to the primary board at a ninety-degree angle.  These cards are identical to each other and are populated by resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits, and transistors.  Surface wiring runs underneath at least one of these boards on the main board surface.   Other components on the board, located toward the front of the PCB, include two large electrolytic capacitors, diodes, resistors, a relay with a relay diagram printed on its top surface, and several smaller capacitors.   Components are not marked by reference designators but may have their original manufacturer codes.
