About the 0-51839-8
0-51839-8 Relay Card
The 0-51839-8 is a board component fabricated by Reliance Electric. Reliance was bought out by Baldor Electric Co in 2006, and this group was purchased by ABB Group in the later 2000s; your board may be marked as coming from any of these companies. The board number will remain constant.
The 0-51839-8 functions as a Relay Card. It is designed with a front faceplate and a conductive backplane. The faceplate is connected with three screws to the PCB and makes it easier for technicians to insert and remove the board from rack systems. The faceplate has seven light indicators located under a “Relay On” notation.
The 0-51839-8 circuit board is populated by seven relays. These are placed on the board in a V formation. Each relay is paired with a disk capacitor that is located close to one side of each relay. The board also has two lines of carbon composite resistors, fourteen in all. Surface wiring connects components located in the front panel to the surface of the board. The PCB has the board number and the Reliance logo. It also has a grid pattern on its surface that is marked off on one plane by numbers (5 through 80 by fives,) and on another plane by letters A through BD.) More information about the board and its operation can be accessed through Reliance publications like manuals, data sheets, or user guides.
