Product Description
The IS215UCCAH3A is a controller board component manufactured by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe system. The Mark VIe is designed as a management platform for GE’s heavy-duty steam and gas turbines.
Controllers like the IS215UCCAH3A are single board computers that run application code. The controller runs on the high-reliability, high-speed multitasking QNX Neutrino OS that is designed for industrial applications. This processor board mounts in a CPCI enclosure. Whichever board is designated as the primary controller must be installed in the left-most slot (slot 1.) The enclosure can accept up to four controllers. The board has a lithium battery fitted to its surface that supplies power to the CMOS. The battery has a service life of ten years.
The IS215UCCAH3A has a front faceplate that includes both injectors and ejectors. The injectors must be locked by tightening their screws down, or the board will not boot after installation. The faceplate has two mezzanine card slots for the addition of components with the addition of auxiliary cards. It also has two COM ports, four LEDs, and a UDH port for Ethernet that includes two status LEDs.
The IS215UCCAH3A is populated by integrated circuits, jumper switches, a heat sink, a battery, board connectors and standoffs for the connection of auxiliary boards, and capacitors, resistors, and diodes. A fan located in the rack helps to air cool the rack and protect it from heat damage. If the fan fails and temperatures rise above the 60 degree Celsius board operating temperature, heat may cause the board to fail.
