About the IS200EHPAG1C

The IS200EHPAG1C is part of the Innovation Series of EX2100 models from General Electric (GE) Industrial Systems. This version is the third in the IS200EHPAG series of models. The IS200EHPAG1C module has eight transformers, six of which are aligned on one edge of the board. Four standoff connectors are also within the board. The standoff connectors allow the board to be attached to a daughter board, and connecting a daughter board will allow the board to be extended. The main purpose of the EHPA board is to interface connected controllers to the power bridge.

On this board, there is an ability to control the heat outputs when excessive heat occurs, when excessive heat occurs, there are six heat sink components that will help dissipate the excessive heat. Some other components and features on this unit include several LED warning lights located on the front edge of the board, over ten transistors, and two central processing unit (CPU) sockets.

The IS200EHPAG1C model is mounted in the Power Conversion cabinet. When mounted in this cabinet, it will be used with a Power Conversion Model (PCM), AC circuit breaker, DC circuit contactor, and an Exciter Gate Pulse Amplifier board (EGPA). The EHPA model can also be used with an Exciter Selector (ESEL) board, which will take the gate commands from the ESEL board within the controller and proceed to generate the gate firing pulses for six silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs).

Frequently Asked Questions about IS200EHPAG1C

What is the difference between the EGPA and EHPA boards?

The main difference between the EGPA and EHPA boards is the system types that the gate pulse amplifiers are able to be used in. The EHPA board was designed specifically to operate in 100-millimeter thyristor systems, while the EGPA board can be used in 42, 53, or 77-millimeter thyristor systems.

Is there a part-specific manual for the IS200EHPAG1C model?

The part-specific manual associated with not only this EHPA model but the others, which are EHPAG1A, EHPAG1B, and EHPAG1D, is the GEI-100532 Exciter Gate Pulse Amplifier Board User's Guide. Unfortunately, due to the obsolescence of this board, this manual is extremely difficult to find thus making it hard to install and wire this unit.

What interfaces does the IS200EHPAG1C control?

The IS200EHPAG1C model interfaces current condition feedback as well as the bridge airflow and temperature monitoring.

When using a Resistance Temperature Device (RTD) with the IS200EHPAG1C model, what is one of the downsides?

When the gate pulse amplifiers, such as the IS200EHPAG1C or the IS200EGPA models, there are thermal switches that are wired to the only EGPA board; if the thermal switches open at any time, then a bridge overtemperature alarm will be sounded. These features involving thermal switches and bridge overtemperature alarms are not available on the IS200EHPAG1C model.

Reviews For IS200EHPAG1C

Internal Review
(3.0)

At this time, the IS200EHPAG1C is obsolete due to it no longer being produced by General Electric. If you require the IS200EHPAG1C model, it is vital that you be careful when installing and operating the board; if any damage is obtained, there may not be a replacement model available for you, which would cause issues in controlling the attached prime mover. - AX Control Tech
