The GE Power Connection Board 531X122PCNALG2 is a renewal part for multiple original equipment power connection boards. Before you can install the board, you must configure the board to be compatible with your defective board. The board can be used as a replacement for several boards and it is the configuration of the jumpers that determines if the board is compatible with your drive.  

When you work with any electrical devices or printed circuit boards, it is important to plan ahead to limit the buildup of static electricity. First, you’ll notice that the replacement board you receive comes from the factory in a plastic bag. The plastic bag protects the device from static build up which can damage the board. It is best practice to leave the board in the container in which it shipped and also leave it in the plastic bag.  Damage can occur from static and also the components on the board are delicate and might be damaged if handled roughly or even if you press down on them while carrying the board. For this reason, leave the board in the box until you are ready to install it.

When you do handle the board, only carry it from the edges. That is, do not touch any components and press the palms of your hands against the edges of the board. Have a wrist strap on when you install the board. Some wrist straps have a connector that you insert into a connector on a workbench. Other wrist straps have a clip that you attach to the bare metal surface on the workbench.
