The GE Terminal Board Relay Card 531X111PSHAPG3 supplies the 5 V dc, 15 V dc, and 24 V dc current used by the drive. It also features the pulse transformer for the motor field circuitry. The installation of the GE Terminal Board Relay Card 531X111PSHAPG3 requires the use of hand tools and testing equipment that must meet some minimum standards to ensure the safety of the installers or servicers.

For the installation of the board you must have testing equipment to test for the presence of electrical current in the drive. Use this testing equipment after all power is removed from the drive to ensure all power is removed. Capacitors are components in the board that during normal operation store power and release the current. You must wait a few seconds for the power to drain from the board before you touch the board. Make sure the testing device is working properly and is calibrated to detect the electrical current in the drive. Inspect the probes attached to the tester and make sure they are securely attached.

Screwdrivers are used during the procedure to remove and tighten screws that secure the 3TB assembly.  The screwdriver must be approved for electrical work. Some screwdrivers have material that appears to be insulating material but is not insulating. Also, the insulating material might be worn or missing. Do not use tools with missing worn, or cracked  insulation and only approved tools have insulation that you can be sure is protection against shock.
