What is a P11-FM01-A within the P1 and P1H power systems of CTC Parker Automations?
The P11-FM01-A is a hardware accessory for the P1 power stations. This hardware accessory provides a P1 power station with Class I, Div. 2 approval. There are two P1 configurations of the Parker Automation CTC power systems (P11-014DR and P11-314DR). These two options are unique to each other as the P11-014DR is a monochrome option and the P11-314 is a color STN option. The agency approval for the P1 and P1H power stations is listed as CE; UL/CUL. The additional hardware accessory option provided by the P11-FM01-A is only available for DC units. This allows those DC units to be Class I Division 2 agency approved.
A Class I, Division 2 is a designation of a hazardous location. Thus, if this hardware option was included then the power station would be approved to be installed within this type of an area. A class I Division 2 area is characterized by one of three possible conditions. First flammable liquids or gasses are present but confined to a closed system that would only escape with abnormal malfunction of those containers. The second option is if ignitable gasses or vapors are normally prevented by mechanical ventilation but malfunction of the ventilation could allow for their existence, and the third is if communication of those vapors from a class I division I location may be possible but this can be prevented with positive pressure ventilation from a clean air set-up.
