Product Description

The G310C230 model is the second of the G310C2 models from Red Lion. The model has the same screen size, which is a 10.4" TFT VGA display. This specific model can only be used in indoor applications and is equipped with isolated communication ports, a USB host, and dual Ethernet communications. The associated display for this model is a ten-point four-inch TFT or VGA display operator interface. The resolution of this model is approximately six hundred and forty by four hundred and eighty pixels. The backlight on the G310C230 terminal is a LED backlight with an approximate lifetime of seventy thousand hours when used at room temperature and full brightness. The brightness of this model can be adjusted to help extend its lifetime. 

An optional expansion card can be installed on the G310C230 model; to do so, all power and input-output communications must be disconnected, and the rear cover of the model must also be removed. Connect the associated cable on the expansion card to the connector on the main board of the operator interface terminal. Once this has been completed, the rear cover can be replaced, and the model can be powered up again; please ensure no errors are occurring once the terminal has been powered back on. 

The software type on the G310C230 model is Crimson software which requires a version of 2.0 or later. The Crimson software used is user-friendly and free of charge compared to other manufacturers, who charge for the software needed to configure their devices.

Are there any downsides to the G310C230 model?

Yes, one of the main downsides of the G310C230 operator interface terminal is that the number of keys on the device is limited. Typically the smaller the model, the more keys the operator interface terminal will have; therefore if you want a panel with more programmable keys, a smaller model is recommended. While there are not that many keys, seven of the eight keys are programmable, meaning that the user can program the keys to their preference.

There is another G310C2 model. This panel is superior to the previous model due to the added feature of dual ethernet. The G310C230 terminal also accepts several option cards, which are a DeviceNet communication card, GSM/GPRS option card, a Profibus DP communication card, a CANOpen communication card, and an RS232/485 option card.
