Product Description

Operator Interface Terminal number G306MS00 was manufactured by Red Lion and was made to operate in indoor or outdoor applications and operates on a power supply range of twenty-four volts of direct current with a 5.7" QVGA touchscreen and display. The keypad on this terminal device is only five keys and they are not embossed. The model does have a glossy finish with a UV-rated overlay which makes it easy to use in outdoor environments as the user can easily see the screen.

There’s a specific software used with the G306M model which is Crimson Version 2.0. The 2.0 software ensures that the G306MS00 is completely up to date regarding the features. The software can configure the model through the CompactFlash, RS232 PGM, or USB port. A standard USB cable is required to connect the USB with a Type B connector. The driver that helps operate this model through the USB port will be installed with the Crimson software.

As mentioned above a CompactFlash card is available with this model and can transfer data if required. To ensure that data transfer occurs smoothly through the USB port a driver, which mentioned above will be installed with the Crimson software, is required. Once the user has checked to make sure that that driver is installed and running currently connect the G306MS00 model to the chosen PC with the USB cable and refer to the mounting the CompactFlash instructions in the Crimson 2.0 User Manual to ensure that all precautions are being taken and the data transfer is occurring as it should.

Is there anything on the G306MS00 panel that makes it unique compared to the other G306M HMIs?

The G306MS00 model is different in the fact that the model is a monochrome sunlight-readable panel compared to the G306M models, which only have a monochrome touchscreen that is not rated for outdoor applications as this panel also is. Compared to the G306MS10 panel, this model operates on a higher supply voltage of 24 VDC. Another difference between this model and the other G3 models is that the backlight on those panels has a yellow backlight, while the G306MS00 has a white backlight.

Does the touchscreen on the G306MS00 panel need any specific configurations before it can be used?

No! One excellent feature of the touchscreen on the G306MS00 model is that as soon as the operator interface has been initialized, the touchscreen can be used. If the operator is wearing gloves at any point and needs to use the touchscreen, they can easily do whatever they need to without taking the gloves off. If the model is being used in a location where noise is not as prevalent, an audible tone will be heard when an active touchscreen cell has been sensed.

There are differences between the two G306MS models. The G306MS00 model will operate on a greater power voltage than the G306MS10 panel, which has a lower voltage range of 10-16 VDC at a nominal power supply of 12 VDC. Any communication cards used with this panel must be 24 VDC, as lower power cards will cause the drive to malfunction. - AX Control Tech
