The Square D SY/MAX 8030-CRM-540 is a network interface module compatible with model 50 programmable controllers. This interface system allows for various controllers to gain access to I/O and register data from a 50 ring network. When operating over a LAN, over 200 devices can communicate using a single network connection. Complete with three selectable operation modes, this versatile interface module is functional in a variety of environments.

Unlike other network interface modules, 8030-CRM-540 offers a Model 50 Mode, which offers access to a Model 50 ring network. Data can be communicated, uploaded, downloaded, and monitored over SY/NET in this mode. SY/MAX mode allows access of controllers, programmers, and IBM or other SY/MATE compatible computers. Net-to-Net mode, on the other hand, supports communication between multiple LANs when used with another interface module. Eight indicator lights can be found at the top of the unit, relaying connectivity and error diagnostics. Two thumbwheel switches allow the user to select the unit’s address within the network. Two comm ports follow, allowing interface with a variety of SY/MAX devices and networks. A high-speed LAN port is also featured on the unit for a network hookup. A standard size network interface, the unit measures 1.5in (W) x 12.8in (H) x 6.6in (D) and weighs 2.7 ounces.

Proper installation and usage is integral in maintaining a controller like 8030-CRM-540. When operating, ambient temperatures should range from 32℉ to 140℉, or 0℃ to 60℃.
