The 8030-CRM-220 module is meant to be used with the SY/MAX programmable controllers. It has the capability to handle many different kinds of tasks, from very small single-machine oriented ones to systems that require hundreds or even thousands of remote I/O and register functions. By properly using the 8030-CRM-220 module, you can remotely locate both register and digital racks from a SY/MAX processor unit. You can communicate with the attached processor unit using a two pair twisted cable. By doing this, you will greatly reduced the cost of wiring to the inputs and outputs.

The 8030-CRM-220 module five LED status indicator lights on the front. They are labeled as “RUN,” “HALT,” “CHANNEL ERROR,” “I/O ERROR,” and “MODULE ERROR.” The first of these LED status indicator lights is green, while the rest are red. Below that, there are five terminals towards the bottom of the device.
