About the 45C987
The 45C987 device is a Shark XL network module. Both the Shark XL series and the 45C987 network module were made by Reliance Electric. Most of the time, you can find the 45C987 network module inside of our stock here at AX Control even though the Shark XL series is not being produced by Reliance Electric any longer. Check on the availability of this device using our website. The 45C987 network module was designed so that it could allow a maximum of eight Shark XL systems to communicate with one another. Because of this, the 45C987 network module is a required product if you are hoping to connect a Shark XL system to the network. On the 45C987 network module’s faceplate, you will find:
- a status LED
- terminals for network communication wires
- two rotary switches
Whenever the LED, which is labeled as “RUN,” is illuminated, then you will know that the module is transmitting data onto the network. The two rotary switches are used to define the node number of the module and the total number of nodes that are present on the system.
