The 45C911 unit is a rack that was made by Reliance Electric to be compatible with the various modules within the Shark XL series. The 45C911 rack is designated as the Shark XL series’ four-slot rack, but it actually has a total of five slots. One of the 45C911 rack’s five slots is designed to hold a Shark XL power module. The rest of the slots were created to hold the Shark XL series’ I/O and processor modules. 

The 45C911 rack is equipped with two small mounting holes at the top of the rack. These holes are used to make the installation of the 45C911 rack a quick, simple process. Other than the mounting holes, the 45C911 rack has a backplane connector for every slot. On the side of the 45C911 rack, you will find an expansion connector. This connector is useful if you would like to connect this rack with another Shark XL rack to expand the amount of slots you have for modules.

The 45C911 rack has an easy installation process. You will need to find a flat surface that can fit the 45C911 rack and mount it to that. All of the Shark XL racks are light in weight, with the largest rack being only 2.59 lbs. or 1.18 kg. However, be aware that the rack’s weight will increase with every module that is installed inside of it. Be sure that your panel can support the weight of the rack and the modules that are placed inside of it. The rack should be mounted using either M4 or #8 panhead screws.
