The K-605 is an auxiliary contact kit that was created and manufactured by Reliance Electric. The K-605 is no longer supported or offered new by the original manufacturer, Reliance Electric. The Reliance Electric auxiliary contacts are UL listed and were created with ease of use in mind. First, they all have silver contact tips, ensuring quality and precision. The steel springs that are included tend to live a long life and the contacts are wrapped in a clear plastic film to ensure safety. The terminals that are present on the auxiliary contacts are easily accessible. Lastly, the auxiliary contact blocks have very easy assembly and removal procedures.
Every single auxiliary contact that was produced by Reliance Electric come with a clear side cover and contacts that are positive driven from the main contact carrier. A single auxiliary contact kit can be attached to each side of the starter, which can allow up to four additional auxiliary contacts for every motor starter. There is, however, another device that is called the side mounting kit that can give your device four extra auxiliary contacts.
Take extra care when installing the auxiliary contacts onto a contactor. The auxiliary contactors, when installed, will give your contactor an additional half an inch of width. Be sure that your contactor is in a place where this addition can occur without any problems.
Lastly, be sure that you are installing the auxiliary contact in a place that is clean and clear of any debris. Failure to do this can lead to a failed installation, malfunction in the hardware, and possibly even serious injury.
