The K-509 model is an auxiliary contact kit that was manufactured by Reliance Electric. Reliance Electric designed and produced numerous models of auxiliary contact kits during their time as a company, but they have all been discontinued and rendered obsolete. However, AX Control may have the K-509 auxiliary contact kit in stock. We are typically stocked with our products in refurbished condition, but we may also have the K-509 auxiliary contact kit as a brand new product due to our ability to access some surplus stock. The K-509 auxiliary contact is a 1 pole N.C., or normally closed, contact that has a maximum voltage of 600 Volts. A normally closed contact is one that allows current when the device that it is connected to is energized. Whenever voltage is applied to the device’s terminals, the contact closes.
The K-509 auxiliary contact can be installed in many Reliance Electric machines. For example, it is compatible with Reliance Electric contactors. When you are ready to install the K-509 auxiliary contact, be sure that you are able to provide adequate space. The K-509 auxiliary contact will provide an extra half an inch to the total width of the contactor. This may not seem like a lot, but if your contactor is in a confined space, be sure to reposition it so that it can accommodate this extra piece of hardware.
The K-509 auxiliary contact is very light in weight, weighing in at only 0.84 lbs. or 0.38 kg.
