The K-269 is a Reliance Electric Contact Kit. This is a replacement part that was originally provided to users as a replacement component by Reliance Electric. Some components may have shipped under company names Asea Brown Boveri, ABB, or Baldor-Reliance, but typically this is the same part and has the same use and compatibility.
The K-269 kit is designed to fit a 78091-51R contactor. This is a 75 Amp 120 VAC 3-pole contactor. The 78091-51R is a definite purpose contactor with two NC contacts and two NO contacts; this kit can replace one of the NC, intermittent duty contacts. DC Contactors like this are typically used for reversing, accelerating, or as main line contactors. An NC contact is normally closed. These are often used in DC motor controllers or starters as well as for switching resistive battery loads.
