The K-259 model is a contact repair kit that was initially distributed by Reliance Electric. This kit is comprised of two brackets, an angled piece of metal, and a spring that are made of a conductive material and are used to create an electrical circuit that was once connected to the particular device’s relay. All of these components are used to replace a defective part of a Reliance Electric auxiliary contact kit.
This K-259 contact repair kit includes a 1 pole, normally closed contact. This particular contact is rated at 265 Amps.
The auxiliary contact kits that were created and sold by Reliance Electric can be installed in the many various machines that they produced. One such device is the motor starter that Reliance Electric produced. Keep in mind that when you are installing an auxiliary contact kit into a motor starter, you will not be required to use any tools. Simply find one of the auxiliary contact kit’s ports and insert it firmly. There is one installation point on each side of the motor starter for a total of four. If you happen to have the side mounting kit, however, you will be able to add an additional four auxiliary contact kits to motor starter for a total of eight per motor starter. This is a wise investment, as you will not need to purchase another motor starter simply for more contact points.
The K-259 contact repair kit contains most of the parts that are in a regular Reliance Electric auxiliary contact kit and a few extras. This means that the total weight is slightly more than your average auxiliary contact kit. The K-259 contact repair kit weighs in at approximately 0.47 lbs. or 0.21 kg.
