86466-88T Medium Voltage Rectifier Stack 460 V
The 86466-88T is a Reliance Electric Medium Voltage Rectifier, created for use in various drive systems from the company. While this has since been discontinued, Reliance components were sometimes sold under different company names like ABB and Baldor Reliance. The 86466-88T is available from AX Control as a reconditioned unit that has been rebuilt by our in-house experts, and as a unit from never used surplus.
The 86466-88T functions as a thyristor assembly. This is a semiconductor device with alternating P- and N-type materials that can be used as a bistable switch. It can withstand high voltage and has high through-current capabilities. Thyristors begin to conduct when the anode voltage is positive with respect to the cathode voltage and continue to conduct until the current falls below this holding current. The 86466-88T is built from two connected vertical heat sinks that are bolted together across an air gap. This air gap is populated by SCR diodes and other components. The bottom of one heat sink connects to a hollow rectangular base that holds several other components. These components connect together using wires.
