86466-74T Rectifier Thyristor

The 86466-74T is a Rectifier Thyristor component fabricated by Reliance Electric for use in their drives and drive auxiliary systems.  This component was also sold under manufacturing names of ABB and Baldor-Reliance.  

The 86466-74T is built upon a narrow, hollow base made from a flat base plate and two C-shaped side pieces.  Two sides are open.  This base holds two high voltage capacitors and a Dale power resistor.  The vertically placed heat sinks screw mount to the side pieces of the base and also connect to a central metal carrier.   Two SCR diodes are mounted between the heat sinks and the central carrier. 

At the top of the 86466-74T, the central carrier turns at a ninety-degree angle, creating a platform for the addition of a component.  There are two small circuit boards mounted to the top of the heat sinks.  These small boards each have a transformer, resistors, diodes, terminal pins located on their surfaces.  They are screw mounted to the top of the heat sinks.
