The 802272-14S is a Reliance Electric Field Power Supply. This is a large power supply, weighing over 26 pounds with dimensions of 13.50 inches by 10.25 inches by 7.50 inches. It may have been sold at some time in the past under the company names Baldor Reliance and/or Asea Brown Boveri (ABB.) The 802272-14S is typically used within products like the FlexPak 3000 DC drive. This series offered versatile power capabilities capable of 150% full load current up to one minute as well as burst firing of SCRs. The units also offered adjustable parameters like linear deceleration and acceleration, minimum and maximum speed, and jog speed. They are designed with their signal, control, and power field wiring to be easily accessible via external terminal boards in order to streamline the installation process. The 802272-14S is built from two parallel rectifier stacks attached to each other by a base, by screw connections, and by an internal SCR. The top of each stack includes a small circuit board that has several vertical pin connectors, a small transformer, wire jumpers, and a capacitor. Above these, the power supply stacks each have a single 800 amp 500 VA Bussman Semi-conductor fuse bolted to its apex. These fuses are connected to each other across metal bars.
