MDCOMM-ENET is the MD65 EtherNet/IP Communications Module, which is manufactured by Reliance Electric for the MD65 microdrive. The installation checklist for the EtherNet communications module is included in the user manual (D2-3529) for this module. This checklist first requests that the user review the safety precautions for the module. Then the operator must verify that the drive is properly installed. If the drive is not properly installed, refer to the drive manual for proper installation instructions. Next, install and apply power to the Ethernet communications module. Configure the module for the correct application by setting the following parameters: IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, data rate, I/O configuration, and fault actions. Then the user must configure the scanner or the bridge for communication with the module. Lastly, create a ladder logic program that enables the user to control the module and the drive via I/O and monitor/configure the drive using Explicit messages.
The required equipment for is module is one EtherNet/IP Communications Module, one 15.24 cm internal interface cable, and one module user manual. The user must also supply a number of items for this module, including a small flathead or Phillips screwdriver, one Ethernet cable, a configuration tool (MD65 LCD OIM, VS Utilities, or BOOTP server), and a PC connection to the EtherNet/IP network.
