About the B18H1080
Reliance Electric manufactures B18H1080, an enclosed motor that is part of the HR2000 drive series. A number of important specifications exist for this specific motor:
- the horsepower is 4
- the continuous torque rating is 125 in-lbs
- the base speed is 2000 rpm
- the inertia is 0.041 lb. in s^2
- the associated chassis controller is 3RA2004
- the flange mounting is 180TC with feet
This motor is enclosed in a TENV enclosure. When starting and adjusting the controller, verify that the controller output ratings correspond to the motor nameplate data. Make sure that any motor thermal switch or overload device, if required, is sized for the rated motor current. Ensure that there are no loose items on or around the motor so that it runs freely. Test the rotation of the motor with your hand first before attempting start up.
When you initialize the regulator, do so with the motor uncoupled from the load. All motor and encoder covers must be tightly closed in order to prevent ignition of a hazardous atmosphere. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to, or destruction of, the equipment in question. When the regulator is set for Speed or Torque modes, the direction of the motor rotation is determined by a reference polarity.
