About the 896.15.80
The 896.15.80, which is also identified by the alternative part number 75R4160, is a vector (60-75HP) or V/Hz (100HP) Drive. This drive was initially made by Reliance Electric and could have also been sold by Baldor Reliance or ABB. The 896.15.80 is a part of the GV3000/SE series of PWM AC drives. This drive is responsible for:
- providing power and control to its assigned motors
- handling a motor torque to zero speed that is full-rated
- regulating the motor’s speed in both directions
- providing response times. It has the option of doing this using encoder feedback or not. When using the volts/hertz regulation this drive can handle a very wide array of functions that need adjustable speed control
896.15.80 75HP 460V Drive Protection Strategy
This drive is covered by a type 1 NEMA chassis. This chassis has a small flap that has the ability to give a user access to the RS-232 port that’s on the regulator board. This chassis is not dust/drip-proof and should not be used for outside functions. This chassis should be kept away from combustible and corrosive substances. It is a larger model drive and has two large fans on its bottom. It has also has air vents in the sides and front panel that promote airflow to the internal drive modules and PCBs. The 896.15.80 has:
