Product Description

Model number 7V2260 is one of the AC drives produced by Reliance Electric for the GV3000 series. This model has a NEMA 12 enclosure which is only rated for indoor environments that require a drip- or dust-tight enclosure; the NEMA 12 enclosure does not have any vents but is supplied with keypad and base gaskets.

The 7V2260 drive has a 7.5 HP with an input and output voltage of 200-230 VAC. The firmware version used with the vector or volts/hertz (V/Hz) regulators is version 6.0. For vector regulation, the drive will provide a high dynamic response as well as precisely control the speed in both directions of the motor using the attached pulse tachometer feedback, and the full rated motor torque to zero speed will be maintained.

The regulator board is one of the most important components of the 7V2260 drive as it will perform most if not all of the drive regulations will be performed through a microprocessor on the regulator board. One of the parts of the regulator board is a terminal strip, the terminal strip is used for many different connection types which are RS232 connections, status relay connections, analog speed/torque reference connections, 24 VDC digital input connections, analog output connections, snubber resistor braking control connections, and pulse tachometer connections. The pulse tachometer connections on the regulator board are located on terminals four through nine and are vital to the 7V2260 drive when used in vector regulation where pulse tachometers are required.

Without proper installation or maintenance of the 7V2260 drive, the drive owner is sure to experience any number of significant faults in drive function. One fault that may be particularly relevant to owners of this specific GV3000 series drive exists in the motor output phase loss fault; represented with the code OPL on 7V2260's built-in keypad display. The motor output phase loss fault happens due to the loss of a phase between the drive and the drive's motor, and corrective action when faced with this OPL fault involves checking the connections and cables of all three of the drive's phases and motor windings, ensuring to replace damaged or defective cable as you go. If the problem persists after this series of diligent checks, then additional checks to this drive's attached tachometer are necessary. For more troubleshooting tips for the GV3000 series drive owner, feel free to check out Reliance Electric's informative instructional manual D2-3362-1, availble online here at AXcontrol.com.

Reviews For 7V2260

Internal Review
(5.0)

Already supported by its industry-standard 6.0 regulator version, several kits can be added to the 7V2260 drive to bolster its efficiency and overall performance. One of the kits available for attachment to this GV3000 series model is the snubber resistor braking kit. The 7V2260 drive can add two snubber kits so long as they are connected to the 7V2260 drive in parallel. The option kit recommended is the 2SR20300. For more information on the snubber kit, please refer to the D2-3291 instructional manual. - AX Control Lead Technician
