About the 5G0251S

The 5G0251S is a 5HP Reliance Electric GV3000/SE Solar Turbine Drive.

The 5G0251S has a 120 VDC input with an input amperage of 37A.  It has an output voltage of It is a 90 VAC and an output amperage of 30.4A.  Because it is a solar turbine drive, it needs a different power supply than most of the other traditional GV3000/SE drives.  This drive is a V/Hz only drive and can not use vector regulation. It can alter its carrier frequency between 2,4, and 8Hz. It has a full load power loss of 600 watts. This drive weighs 15.75 kg and is 463mm tall, 288mm wide, and 238.1mm thick.

The 5G0251S is in a NEMA type 12/IP52 enclosure. This enclosure is not vented and should only be used in inside environments. It is a drip/dust-tight enclosure. This enclosure is protecting many internal components on this drive. Some of these components include two fan assemblies, a signal board, a gate driver board, an IGBT module, a very large power board, a membrane switch with a bracket attached to it, and a regulator board.  

In order to mount the 5G0251S, the user needs a set of four M8 or M10 bolts and washers. These are not provided with this unit. There are 4 factory-drilled holes on the back of the drive so that the user can mount it to a flat, vertical surface. When wiring this drive, it is important to make sure that all of the NEC/CEC and local codes are met.
