The 50R4150 is a model of the Reliance Electric motor control series, the GV3000 line of AC Drives. These drives are controller modules for a series of motor units. The level of complexity for the motors ranges from simplistic and basic units to advanced, complicated systems, such as a fan module or pump system, to a web processor network.
The 50R4150 AC Drive is outfitted with a set of three operational modes to provide a range of methods to control motor units. There is a general-purpose method, which utilizes a scalar control over the motor’s voltage and frequency, while the two vector control methods utilize the pulse-width modulated waveform to control motors. The Flux Vector Control method is able to process the drive’s encoder module data signals, while the Sensorless Vector Control method is unable to do so. The unit includes a terminal strip on the regulator board for I/O connections and an RS-232 communication port. The front panel includes a Keypad and display for operation and programming.
The horsepower rating for the 50R4150 ranges up to a maximum of 50 HP. This unit is operated by a power supply intake range of 380 to 460 V/AC. The unit is enclosed in a frame that is designed with an IP0 power module form. The protective rating of this frame is graded at NEMA 1 and protects from any invasive environmental hazards, such as dirt particles or excess water/oil vapor. These elements would cause severe corrosion of the unit’s internal components and thus are safely protected from it.
