About the 2CN3000

The 2CN3000 is a GV3000/SE AC Drive ControlNet Network Communication Option Board made by Reliance Electric. This card may have been sold by ABB and/or Baldor Reliance at one point.

The 2CN3000 is an interface kit that is an optional component in a Reliance GV3000/SE controller. It is a printed circuit board assembly that has the ability to be mounted into a controller. This board is highly adaptable and has the ability to be installed in a wide array of controllers.

It connects to the regulator board using a ribbon cable and the drive power supply. It is also connected to the current feedback board using a 26-pin ribbon connector. You can find the current feedback board below the keypad on the right side. You may need to slightly move the mounting bracket that is attached to keypad a little to help you install the interface board. Once it is connected to the other components, you can then mount it to the controller using the right side of the keypad bracket. It is important to use M3 screws and lock washers to mount this board because they help to ground it. If you fail to properly ground the option board, it may result in board damage or irregular drive operation.

The main components on this board include a ControlNet network access port, network connectors, status LEDs, and an RS-232 port. The RS-232 connection port allows you to connect a serial programming device to the board, allowing it to update the flash memory.
