About the 20V4150

Drive number 20V4150 is part of the GV3000 series from Reliance Electric. This module will be enclosed in a NEMA 1 rating. The NEMA 1 enclosure is vented, which helps the user access the communication ports within the drive because it has a communication access door; the enclosure is recommended to be used in general-purpose indoor applications. The 20V4150 drive is used with vector and or volts/hertz (V/Hz) Regulation in the 5.0 version. The operating voltage on this model is 380-460. All of these components are easily identifiable when referring to Figure 2.1 in the D2-3340 GV3000 AC Power Modules Hardware Reference, Installation, and Troubleshooting Instruction guide, which is a part breakdown.

Twelve primary components will make up the 20V4150 module. The components are as follows:

  • a fan wire harness
  • a diode bridge
  • an IGBT module
  • an internal fan assembly
  • a current feedback printed circuit board
  • a power printed circuit board
  • a power supply printed circuit board
  • a gate driver printed circuit board
  • a membrane switch
  • a capacitor printed circuit board or input capacitors
  • and a regulator printed circuit board

The locations of these components can be found in Figure 2.4 of the D2-3340 manual.

The 20V4150 model has the capability to be used with the optional kits to extend the functionality of the drive. Some of the kits are a snubber transistor, a line regeneration unit, and a snubber resistor braking kit. When referring to Table 2.2 in the D2-3340 instructional manual, make sure that you carefully observe what drives the kits can and cannot be used with, as there are some limitations to what kit can be used with what drive.

Frequently Asked Questions about 20V4150

What is the 20V4150 model?

The 20V4150 model is a GV3000 AC power module that operates on 20 HP. It has a NEMA 1 enclosure and can be used with vector and volts/hertz regulators.
What is the short circuit rating on 20V4150?
20V4150 has a 3000A short circuit rating.
Are fault codes stored on 20V4150?
Yes, 20V4150 automatically stores all subsequent fault codes that may occur in the system error log on 20V4150. You can find the fault codes that occurred on 20V4150 when 20V4150 is in program mode after moving through all parameter menus on 20V4150's built-in keypad. A maximum of 10 fault codes can be stored in 20V4150's fault code error log. The last fault to occur on 20V4150 will appear first when you access the fault error log on 20V4150. This fault on 20V4150 will be identified with the number 0 while the last fault is identified with the number 9 on 20V4150.
Where can I find the manuals for 20V4150?

Reviews For 20V4150

Internal Review

While the 20V4150 model can be used with both vector and volts/hertz regulators, there are some limitations when using the vector regulator. The vector regulator on the 20V4150 drive is required to be used with a pulse tachometer to ensure the model performs a closed-loop operation. Additionally, this specific drive has been found to function well with a correspondent 5.0 regulator version. - AX Control Lead Technician
