The 915FK2101 model is described by Reliance Electric as a ControlNet Network Communication Option board. This model can be used with a FlexPak 3000 or WebPak 3000 DC drive. One thing that should be noted is that there are certain versions of the ControlNet Network board and WebPak 3000 or FlexPak 3000 DC drives used together. When the 915FK2101 is used with a WebPak 3000 drive, version 1.1 or later, the option board used must be version 2.2 or later. The FlexPak 3000 drive, version 4.2 or later, can be used with any available ControlNet Network Option boards.
The 915FK2101 model was designed to make the connected drive a slave node on the ControlNet network. This model is considered a printed circuit board that will internally mount to the drive and connects to the regulator board available within the chosen drive with the attached ribbon connector. This unit will be powered by the drive's power supply. One of the features available on the 915FK2101 model is the RJ-45 connector; the RJ-45 connector was designed to be used as a Network Access Port to allow temporary access to products connected to the network or the network itself.
This model also contains its own microprocessor; the microprocessor on the 915FK2101 can be connected to one port of the board's dual-port memory, with the remaining port interfacing with the connected drive's regulator board.
