About the 50FN4021
Greater Product Series Information
The 50FN4021 is a 50 HP FlexPak 3000 Non-Regenerative DC Drive. It was initially created by Reliance Electric but was also probably also sold by ABB and Baldor Reliance depending on its production years. The 50FN4021 was discontinued by Reliance, but AX Control still attempts to keep it stocked. This 50FN4021 device's attribution to the Reliance Electric manufacturer more or less affirms a correct status as a legacy product.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
The 50FN4021 does not have a back rectifier and functions as a full-wave power converter. It has a digital current minor loop and a digital major loop that can be used with armature voltage or speed regulation. The 50FN4021 is:
- 460 volts
- 50/60 Hz
- 2 cycles of nominal frequency variation
- in possession of a 500 VDC armature voltage and a 300 VDC field voltage
- able to maintain an overload capacity of 150% for 1 minute
- 98.6% efficient for its speed and rated load
It has 74 amps of full load rated RMS AC line current and 10 kA of maximum symmetrical AC fault current. It has a minimum source of 63 KVA. The 50FN4021 is in a chassis type enclosure. It is U/L and C-U/L certified. It comes with a built-in user interface that has a keypad and an LCD display panel. It features software version 2 on its user interface.
The user interface is primarily used to help set up the drive. It can make parameter adjustments, monitor the drive, and run diagnostics. The drive’s interface can be set to use different languages including Spanish, German, French, Italian, English, and it can display an alphanumeric code. There is an external fan assembly on the bottom of the drive and semiconductors on top of the drive.
