This device is a part of the FlexPak 3000 Series, as a subcategory of controller units. These controller modules were initially designed and manufactured entirely by Reliance Electric. This module is the 15FN2042 unit, a non-regenerative controller module. This controller is a reliable, flexible, and compact unit, with several FlexPak 3000 standard benefits and features embedded and integrated into the unit.
The 15FN2042 module is designed with an array of versatile power capabilities for a diverse amount of applications. There is a full wave, fully user controlled 6 pulse power conversion function, designed for smooth and efficient operation and high performance. This model is also capable of handling burst firing of SCRs. The possible current is designed with a 150 percent of a full load current for up to one minute.
While operational, the 15FN2042 unit is designed to run while in an insulated environment that is no hotter than 55 degrees C, with its chassis exposed, and while it is encased in its protective covering, the ambient temperature is 40 degrees C. (In Fahrenheit this respectively is measured as 131 and 104 degrees).
The 15FN2042 controller module is also included with a feature rich standard package for exceptional functionality. There is a self-tuning aspect for controlled speeds and current loops, which operate without disconnecting the fields. The Stop modes of the module range between Coast, Current limit, and Ramp.
