The Electro Craft BRU series is a group of versatile, high performance servo drives outfitted with several different features. The BRU 500 line of devices are what is known as indexing universal drives because of the capability to run both brushless servo and induction motors and because of the ability to act as an indexing drive for point to point applications, analog input velocity servo, variable speed drive, stepper drive replacement, linear motor drive or master encoder follower (complete with electronic gearing).

This unit is the 9101-0380 module of the BRU 500 lineup is designed with several of the standard mechanical and operational features. This unit is able to be configured to operate in a variety of different modes: in an analog position for altering velocity and/or torque, which come in several preset variations, indexing capability for point to point applications. There are settings for the step and direction of this unit, and the model is designed to follow master encoder settings.

The 9101-0380 unit is designed with a set up of a Windows based BRU Master software, which provides a set of tools for both troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities. The set up parameters of the unit are able to be saved in a nonvolatile personality module, whereas the drive configuration can be set up offline and saved to a disk. The tuning parameters can be saved in both of these formats.
