About the DC2-78U
The DC2-78U is a 1-2HP Motor Controller originally produced and sold by Reliance Electric. This controller should be kept away from corrosive and combustible materials. This model of the controller features operator controls. On the front panel of the DC2-78U, there is a speed control dial and a start/stop switch. On the bottom of the controller, there are two pipes that protect wiring that can go to and from the controller. There is also a heatsink on the back and brackets that help to attach this controller to its mounting surface. The DC2-78U is a Basic Plus Process Control controller that also has:
- a 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 1-phase, and 12.5 A rated input
- a 90/180 VDC 10 A rated output
- a DC field rating of 50/100 VDC
- a 2 A and a 10 kA short circuit rating
- a maximum load capacity of 150% for 1 minute
- the ability to control the speed and dynamic braking of the motor it is attached to
- forward, off, and reverse direction controls
- a feature that helps to minimize the possibility of a plug reversing the motor
