DC1-7 is a Reliance Electric controller that is part of the DC1 controller series. The basic controller includes an isolated process interface and an open chassis without an operator’s device. This model allows for manual mode (motor speed adjustment by potentiometer) and automatic mode (process controller output signal. The controller has a fixed rate acceleration, an adjustable current limit, and an adjustable IR drop compensation. This unit has independently adjustable maximum and minimum speeds in manual mode by separate potentiometers.
Performance specifications of the controller includes a 97% controller efficiency and an 81% typical motor and controller efficiency. The controlled speed (torque) range is zero up to the motor base speed, and the displacement power factor at rated speed and load is 65%. The manual maximum speed in manual mode is 50 to 100% of the motor base speed with the manual speed setting potentiometer at its maximum setting. The automatic maximum speed in automatic mode is 50 to 100% of the motor base speed with automatic mode speed reference of its maximum value. The manual minimum speed in manual mode is 10 to 50% of the motor base speed with the manual speed setting potentiometer at its minimum setting. The automatic minimum speed in automatic mode is 10 to 50% of the motor base speed with the automatic mode speed reference at its minimum value. The current limit is 10 to 250% of the rated current. The IR drop compensation is 0 to 12% of the rated armature voltage.
