61C605 Technical Specifications

Manufacturer Reliance Electric
Series AutoMate PLC
Part Number 61C605
Product Type Thermocouple Input Card

Product Description

The 61C605 unit is an 8-Channel Isolated Thermocouple Module, often shortened to “T/C input module,” that comes from within Reliance Electric’s AutoMate line of programmable logic controllers. The T/C input module is no longer being produced by Reliance Electric. However, AX Control continues to supply this device for our customers and therefore may have it in stock right now. The 61C605 T/C input module’s availability in our stock is displayed on this page of our website.

On the 61C605 T/C input module’s faceplate, there are only a few components. The most noticeable one is the terminal block barrier. This terminal block barrier can be removed to expose the thermocouple connections on the other side. This terminal block can also be used for module calibration thanks to the voltage input connections. In addition to the terminal block and its barrier, there is a small LED indicator with the label “BOARD OK.” This LED illuminates whenever there is no failures in either the memory or the board during the module’s internal diagnostic test upon powering up. On the side of the 61C605 T/C input module, there are three cutouts. These cutouts act as a way to allow access to both the jumpers and dip switches, which are both used to select various settings for the module, such as the A/D conversion rate and the rack slot location.

When installing, be sure to set the switches S3-2 and S3-3 on the module so you can select the A/D conversion rate. You will be presented with a choice of four different conversion rates. You will also need to set the switches S3-1 and S3-5 through S3-10 to select the thermocouple type that you need. In addition to that, be sure to install the jumper 43-44 for applications that do not require cold junction compensation.
