About the 57C380

The 57C380 is a Passive Tap made by Reliance Electric. It was possibly also made and sold by Baldor Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri. It is no longer being supported by these manufacturers. AX Control does try to keep it in stock though. We typically sell it as a new surplus stock item. Please check our website to see if the 57C380 is in stock and to see what our shipping options for this item are.

The 57C380 was created to go with an AutoMax DCS Network Communications Module. This small device is required when you need to connect to the network or remote drop to a coax cable. This passive tap can connect a DCs network or be a go-between for a PC, an AutoMax Card Rack system, a ControlLogix System, or a FlexPax Drive. This passive tap can also be connected to another passive tap which can extend the length of the coaxial cables being strung to other devices.

The 57C380 is a very simple small, metallic box that has two coaxial leads labeled BNC-2 and BNC-1 on the bottom of it. On top of this box, there is a small female RS-232 connector.  This module does not come with the coaxial cables needed to connect all of these devices. It is recommended that you use 57C381 as the coax cable you run between all of these devices. It is a 3ft long cable. The 57C380 does not need a specifically dedicated power source, it is simply just a conduit between devices.
