Product Description

The 57423 is a Remote I/O memory module made by Reliance Electric. The 57423 may have been produced by Asea Brown Boveri and Baldor Reliance as well depending on what year it was in production. This part is no longer being supported by the manufacturers. AX Control does try to keep this part in stock though. We offer it as a reconditioned or new surplus item. Please check our website for the availability of the 57423.

The 57423 is a 128K Common Memory Card used in AutoMax systems. This card is an optional part that is used in conjunction with the system’s original memory. This card has the capacity to extend the words of memory by 128K. It is necessary to use this type of card when your system is running more than one Processor Module on the same AutoMax storage rack. The 57423 is there to help facilitate communication between the processor modules using the Multibus P1 bus. If your processors are running completely different or separate tasks, it is still a good idea to have a 57423 because it still allows the processors to share the bus.

The 57423 allows a bit of the memory needed for the system OS and some of the system operating tasks to be stored on itself rather than be stored on the processor modules. This card can also store data structures and symbol tables that are needed to be able to share functions between the processor modules.

The 57423 has a battery backup RAM, high levels of system watchdog, and has two LED indicators on the faceplate that allows the user to monitor the status of both.
