About the 57414

Reliance Electric created the 57414 Modbus Interface Module. Baldor Electric and Asea Brown Boveri may have also sold the 57414 depending on when it was created. This module is not being supported by any of the manufacturers anymore. AX Control does try to keep it in stock though. Please see our website for the availability of the 57414. We typically sell it as a refurbished or new surplus stock product.

The 57414 is a Modbus Assembly Gateway Module created for the AutoMax control system. This module’s main purpose is to connect and encourage communication between AutoMax and Modbus-compatible devices. It does this using a specific subset of the Modbus message function set.  In order to create a single Modicon 584 type module, the 57414 can convert up to four AutoMax Processor Modules. This can then be viewed by the Modbus link. Both RTU and Modbus ASCII modes are supported by this module.

The 57414 has a set of LEDs. There is a 7-segment LED display that can tell you status and error codes. There is an LED labeled OK and it is there to let you know that the module is functioning within its parameters. There is a thumbwheel switch that allows you to select the drop or device number for the equipment. There is also an RS-232 gateway connection port that links the non-AutoMax equipment.

This module plugs into a typical AutoMax card assembly rack. It slides directly into a pair of card slots on the rack backplane. There are brackets on the rack and the faceplate of the module that can be used to further secure the 57414 into place.
